International Student Support Advisor
The Office of International Engagement seeks candidates for half-time (20 hr/wk ) International Student Support Advisor to provide support for international and study abroad students. Key responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for international students; providing general advising and information; communicating with campus offices to connect international students to support services (e.g. Health/Counseling Centers Learning Center, Financial Services); coordinating and implementing cultural activities on campus; arranging local excursions that connect students to local culture and history; assisting students with practical needs (e.g. creating bank accounts, shopping, etc.); and advising study abroad applicants regarding programs and decisions in the Roberts study abroad process.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years related experience; ability to communicate with native-level fluency in English orally and in writing; proficiency in MS Office; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; good interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, particularly with speakers of English as a foreign language; and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment required. Preference given to candidates with experience working or studying abroad and/or with second language ability (fluency not required).
