Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan University invites candidates to apply for a half-time (10-month), non-tenure-track Field Education Director position, with the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning November 2, 2026. Northeastern Seminary is housed in the School of Theology & Northeastern Seminary on our park-like campus in Rochester, New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.

Northeastern Seminary offers 5 graduate certificates, 6 master’s programs, and a Doctor of Ministry program; each of them is offered in a fully online environment. The Field Education Director will be responsible for designing and overseeing the field education curriculum, as well as teaching one course in the area of practical ministry or leadership (either on the graduate or undergraduate level). Qualifications:
- A Master of Divinity degree from an ATS-accredited institution is required.
A Doctor of Ministry degree from an ATS-accredited institution is preferred.
A minimum of five years of active, demonstrated service in pastoral ministry, preferably within a denominational structure.
Candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the University’s Christian mission and identity. A successful candidate will demonstrate cultural humility and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
The Field Education Director at Northeastern Seminary is responsible for four key areas:
- designing a robust field education curriculum that meets current educational standards;
- mentoring and forming students through their ministry placements and vocational reflection;
- managing and monitoring external field sites and supervisors to ensure a supportive environment;
- maintaining academic integrity by managing records and ensuring programmatic accreditation;
- teaching one graduate or undergraduate class in the area of practical ministry or leadership (the level depends on the acquired education)
The approved salary range for this position is $28,000 - $32,000. Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
