Facilities Electrician

Position Description/Responsibilities:  The Facilities Department is accepting applications for a part-time, 30 hour per week Electrician to assist in caring for the physical needs and goals of the campus as it relates to building and equipment use and up-keep, particularly in the area of electrical maintenance and repairs. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and correcting electrical problems in the power distribution, electrical equipment and lighting systems; installing, removing, repairing, overhauling and testing both A.C. and D.C. electrical equipment, including but not confined to: power circuits, lighting systems, switchgear, transformers starters, controllers, capacitors control and communication equipment and basic electronics.  Additional duties include maintaining accurate records of electrical products and equipment and complying with local, state and national codes.

Qualifications: High school diploma and training in the electrical trade required, as well as ten years related experience, particularly in lighting systems, electrical distribution systems, motor controls, data network wiring and testing. Skills required to trouble shoot in each area. Experience in rough and finish wiring and a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, as well as, solid working knowledge of electrical theory.  Previous experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting required. Good customer service skills, ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 75 lbs. also required.
