Director of Multicultural Student Success

Position Description/Responsibilities:  The Office of Student Life is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Multicultural Student Success with a targeted start date of July 1, 2018. Reporting to the VP for Student and Organizational Development and Chief Diversity Officer, this position will support and advocate for diversity initiatives and encourage utilization of available student programs and campus resources. The primary charge is to develop and implement student-centered programs and initiatives that contribute to enhancing the College experience and retention of undergraduate underrepresented students. In addition, the Director will provide leadership and direction for service opportunities and student diversity and inclusion initiatives, including coordinating cultural events on campus. Collaborating with key campus leaders and departments will be an integral expectation of this role.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required in appropriate/related field, as well as demonstrated knowledge and experience related to topics of diversity, inclusion, and multicultural affairs, preferably in higher education. From a Christ-centered perspective, the role requires strong leadership abilities, ability to lead students in their spiritual journey, excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; demonstrated teaching and public speaking abilities; and an ability to work effectively on a team or independently.
