Assistant to the CFO
Position Description/Responsibilities: The Office of the CFO seeks a part-time (32-35 hours/week) Assistant to the CFO to provide administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer. The Assistant to the CFO will undertake assignments and projects as requested by the CFO and other Finance leaders. She/he assists with the efficient operation of the Finance office, maintaining high standards of professionalism, efficiency, and personal communication. The Assistant to the CFO has recurring contact with members of the Board of Trustees, senior administrators, external auditors and advisors, and other constituents. She/he exercises initiative and judgment in managing the CFO’s schedule and maintains confidentiality and discretion in handling a range of highly sensitive issues. Additional key responsibilities include responding to inquiries from constituents; coordinating the flow of incoming and outgoing communications; assisting with meeting preparation and documentation; and promoting a positive image of the CFO’s office and of the College and Seminary through all interactions.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and at least three years of increasingly responsible administrative assistant experience is required, preferably supporting a finance executive. A highly professional demeanor, strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), and excellent customer service focus are required. Demonstrated, proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making is required, as is the ability to work independently, use initiative, maintain confidentiality, and make decisions in a complex and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of general office procedures and practices and be able to manage, prioritize, and execute multiple projects. Proficiency with MS Office and Google software products are required. Basic accounting knowledge is preferred but not required.
