Ladies Business Lunch 2026

On March 27, 2026, the School of Business hosted our third annual Ladies Business Lunch in the Fireside Lounge, Golisano Library, at Roberts Wesleyan University. This event is designed to create a supportive and empowering space for traditional undergraduate female students within the School of Business, offering them the opportunity to hear from a successful Christian female professional while connecting to this year’s theme of Personal Excellence. The event also embraced a spring theme, with small potted flowers and ladybug decorations enhancing the atmosphere.

This year’s guest speaker was Roberts Wesleyan alumna Karen Shadders, a graduate of the Strategic Leadership Master's program and current Vice President of Strategy and Development at The Emerson Group. During her presentation, Karen shared her “10 Lessons from a CEO,” weaving together valuable insights from her professional and personal faith journey with practical advice for students preparing to enter the workforce. Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session, where they could seek guidance and gain perspective as they navigate their career paths. Karen highlighted Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The event also featured a catered lunch by Metz Dining Services, including wraps, house-made chips, caprese skewers, and strawberry cheesecake. To conclude the event, attendees received School of Business mugs filled with small manicure sets as takeaway gifts, along with chapel credit.
