Media Relations Guidelines
Roberts Wesleyan University manages all media interactions through a centralized process to support clear, accurate, and community-minded communication across every situation, from routine inquiries to sensitive events.
To serve our constituents and community well, Roberts maintains guidelines for how media inquiries are handled, how campus access is granted, how likeness is used, and how communication is managed during urgent or sensitive moments.
- All media inquiries must be directed to the Marketing Department at media@roberts.edu
- Faculty may speak as subject‑matter experts, but must clarify when they are not representing Roberts institutionally.
- Official University statements require approval from the Marketing Department.
- Only designated spokespersons may speak to the media during emergencies or sensitive events.
- Media inquiries during crises should be escalated immediately to the Marketing Department.
Media Access to Campus
- Media must be escorted while on Roberts property and will be given badges while on campus.
- Access to residence halls, classrooms, or student-only spaces requires explicit prior approval by the Marketing Team.
Use of Student & Employee Likeness
- Roberts follows FERPA and applicable privacy laws.
- Written consent is required before publishing or sharing student or employee images.
