What Will I Learn

As an Adolescence Education in Mathematics major, you will learn to bring math to life in your classroom. Develop your analytical, computational, quantitative, and communication skills in order to earn your dream job. After graduation, you’ll be ready to pursue graduate studies in education, mathematics, or other related disciplines.

You’ll have a mentor in both the Mathematics and Teacher Education department. You may participate in the Adopt-A-School program and other STEM initiatives.

You’ll graduate prepared to apply for New York State teaching certification in Mathematics for grades 7-12.

You may choose to become certified in teaching:
  • Mathematics for grades 5-6
  • Dual certification in Adolescence Education Mathematics 7-12 and Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalists
You’ll study:
