Adolescence Education Biology

The Adolescence Education Biology program prepares students to apply for New York State teaching certification in Biology for grades 7-12 (with an extension in Biology for grades 5-6). Students in this program also have the option of completing requirements for dual certification in Adolescence Education Biology 7-12 and Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalists.

This program prepares students to pursue graduate studies in education, Biology, or other related disciplines. All Adolescence Education Biology students are assigned an advisor in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences as well as an advocate in the Teacher Education Department.

Consultation with both advisor and advocate is essential to ensure that program requirements and application deadlines are met for both departments.
