Finger Lakes Independent Higher Education Forum: Brainpower, Partnerships and Resources for Our Region

Finger Lakes private, not-for-profit colleges and universities, in conjunction with the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities in New York and partner, Greater Rochester Enterprise, invite you to join us for the “Finger Lakes Independent Higher Education Forum: Brainpower, Partnerships and Resources for Our Region.”   The event will be held Tuesday, October 14 from 9-11:30 a.m. in Shewan Recital Hall in the Howard Stowe Roberts Cultural Life Center on the Roberts Wesleyan College campus.

More than 40,000 students enroll each year at independent, not-for-profit colleges and universities in the Finger Lakes. These campuses directly employ 18,100 individuals and contribute $4.9 billion to the New York State economy annually. Along with their role as anchor tenants, Independent Sector campuses also are talent magnets, workforce and innovation catalysts and community partners.

The forum will highlight partnerships and provide an opportunity for exchanging ideas and networking for higher education, government, business and community leaders. Discussions will focus on further harnessing independent higher education’s community and workforce contributions for the economic and social good of the region.
