Christine Sheffer '08 Appointed Superintendent and Director of School Programs

 

Rochester, NY -  Mary Cariola Children’s Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Sheffer as the Center’s new Superintendent and Director of School Programs.

Sheffer will be responsible for the administration, staff development, quality and fiscal performances as well as the day-to-day operations for Mary Cariola’s Preschool and School Age programs.

An Agency employee for 15 years, Sheffer has worked as a Preschool Teacher, Trainer, Recruiter and most recently Director of Preschool Services.

“Christine’s experience in so many areas will advance our efforts in discovering each child’s lifelong potential,” said Agency President Karen Zandi.

Sheffer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Special Education and Psychology from Hood College, a Masters of Special Education from Roberts Wesleyan College, certification in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport and is working on her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Rochester.

Sheffer will replace Denise O’Brien-Miller who is retiring in August.

Mary Cariola Children’s Center provides evidenced based solution in education and life skills development for 400 children and youth with complex disabilities.
