To research loan and payment options:
Tuition Managment Systems provides an independent, informative and interactive view of your available options (ie. monthly payment plans, combining loans & payment plans, or education loan options).
Once all federal loan options have been exhausted, some students choose to apply for private, alternative loans. These types of loans are applied for directly at the lender of your choice. These websites might assist you in finding the loan options that are right for you as we do not maintain a preferred lender list.
Fin Aid: The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid: Student Loans is a comprehensive and informative website that offers financial aid advice and tools for students including a private (alternative) loan comparison chart of lenders.
Student Lending Analytics has developed a list of private loan options for students who need a focused resource for help in finding a private student loan.
EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 15, 2010, all ALTERNATIVE/PRIVATE loan applications must include a Self_certification form. Pursuant to Section 155 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, (HEA) and to satisfy the requirements of Section 128(e)(3) of the Truth in Lending Act, a lender must obtain a self-certification signed by the applicant before disbursing a private education loan. This form should be provided by the lender, but can be printed from the link below:
