Advanced Leadership Network
The Advanced Leadership Network is a new addition to the family of Graduate Business programs at Roberts Wesleyan College and is intended to help our graduates continue their quest for life-long learning after graduation in addition to developing a broader community of scholar practitioners on the College campus. Each year, new curriculum will be offered that is relevant to helping our faculty, staff, and alumni grow personally, professionally, and spiritually through this venue.
Curriculum will be offered in concise, one-night courses for 2-4 hours in duration and will focus on a vital topic related to leadership. Courses are available to faculty, staff, alumni, and their spouse/significant other from the Division of Business, and will be offered on the first Wednesday of each month (excluding June, July, and August) from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The cost for each course will be $20 per person to cover the expense of books, materials, etc.

Getting Off the Road to Tomorrow!
Dr. Steven Hays
Psychologists say that procrastinators poison their happiness with chronic procrastination that costs them their careers and friends. Often, procrastinators spend the day saying, "There just isn’t enough time to do everything that needs to be done and there never will be." Many leaders have heard that said far too often by their employees, or they have said it themselves. Procrastination is a habit that individuals develop to deal with anxiety about starting and/or completing tasks. Furthermore, it is used to cope with tasks that are often boring or overwhelming, which can lead to further procrastination. This interactive seminar will give participants a working knowledge of how to identify procrastination in themselves, their employees, and others. It will also teach how to stop using procrastination as an escape, and offer tips on how to double productivity.

Building Trust Through eCommunications
Robert Whipple
Professionals use email as a primary communication method more now than ever before, which presents an opportunity to build trust more consistently and avoid problems by increasing awareness of the subtleties of online communication. This course will provide insights into what goes on “between the lines” of email and will teach important, and often overlooked, strategies for improved online communication. After gaining insights on the overarching principles, participants will work in small groups to generate a set of online improvement guidelines for their organizations. Participants will leave with a specific plan that will immediately create higher productivity and increased trust.
