Concentration in Photography
Including Digital Imaging and Illustration
Students within the photography concentration are encouraged to see photography in its broadest context. We embrace an understanding of historic photographic topics and processes while moving into the contemporary era of digital imaging. Preparing students to take their place in the contemporary image-driven world is a focus for this program. Students are challenged to work in fine art, studio and photo-journalistic situations to develop their personal visual voice. In addition, students are encouraged to complete an internship to further their practice in the field.
Students in the photography concentration are additionally invited to take advantage of the resources offered in Rochester, including the George Eastman House and Visual Studies Workshop research archives and a rich variety of other opportunities.
