The mission of the Department of Visual Arts is to prepare students academically, artistically and technically in a Christian liberal arts environment for successful and effective service to God and humankind.

Believes in the integration of culturally relevant, multi-disciplinary, visual, faith-based learning with the goal of service and artistic practice.

Is committed to provide updated and fully equipped art facilities and an innovative curriculum for students who seek advanced conceptual and technical development in visually oriented areas.

Strives to produce graduates who are productive integrative servants engaging in significant real world issues.

Partners with a variety of community organizations each year as a ‘Visual Resource’ for their leaders and showcases our commitment to a community for character, creativity, and communication.

Engages in planning and promoting integrative interdisciplinary study and development not only on our campus but also in the greater Rochester community.

Spacious, light filled studios including two dedicated electronic media labs.

The Art Department encourages students to explore their creative potential. The experienced faculty are practicing professional artists. They are committed, engaged educators who have designed a flexible and practical curriculum for the contemporary student.

A solid Foundations Program leads students to more advanced conceptual and technical development.

Internship and studio apprenticeship possibilities in the Rochester area are numerous and allow the student to expand their knowledge and gain experience.
