Major Requirements for B.A. in Studio Art: 43 Hours

  • Sequential art history courses (ART 191, 291, 391 or substitution of ART 490 for one art history course)
  • Upper-level issues course (ART 491) and both senior capstone courses (ART 496 and 497)
  • 12 hours of foundations courses during first two semesters (ART 102, 103, 104, and 105)
  • A 9-hour focus in one studio area such as painting, printmaking, or ceramics
  • 6 hours of studio electives

Major Requirements for B.S. in Studio Art: 55 Hours

  • Sequential art history courses (ART 191, 291, 391 or substitution of ART 490 for one art history course);
  • Upper-level issues course (ART 491) and both senior capstone courses (ART 496 and 497);
  • 12 hours of foundations courses during first two semesters (ART 102, 103, 104, and 105);
  • 6 hours of art electives in one studio area such as painting, printmaking, or ceramics; 
  • A 21-hour studio concentration from the following list:
    • Ceramics;
    • Drawing & Painting-Emphasis: Drawing;
    • Drawing & Painting-Emphasis: Painting;
    • Graphic Design;
    • Photography;
    • Printmaking;
    • Sculpture;
    • Digital Video

  

Students should contact the Department of Visual Arts for the required course list for the selected concentration.
