What Our Grads Say

Main content

I am employed full-time teaching Conversational English and Religion to 4th and 5th graders in a private elementary school called Narnia in Bratislava, Slovakia.  I found the job through the Roberts Career Services webpage.  I was originally hired only to teach English, but they expanded my position into the Religion department because of my education at Roberts.  One of the things that has helped me most with adjusting has been a connection I made through people at Roberts.  [An adjunct professor] put me in contact with a former Roberts student who also lives in Bratislava.  Her husband is a pastor in the city.  I found out once I arrived that she is the one who posted the job on the Roberts career page.  I know that the job I have now and my new life in Slovakia could not have happened without my education at Roberts and the friends and support that I had during my time there.

I had an incredible experience as a Religion/Philosophy student at RWC.  The faculty is top-notch and are all selflessly helpful as advisors, teachers, resources, and friends.  I was able to get to know many of the professors personally and became good friends with my fellow students.  After graduating, I interned at Edgewood Free Methodist Church for about a year before being hired as the Worship Pastor, where I am currently able to use many of the skills and resources I gained at Roberts.  In addition to preparing me for my work at the church, Roberts also helped me prepare for my graduate studies.  I currently attend Northeastern Seminary, where I constantly use and rely on my education at RWC.
