The B.A. degree requires a minimum of 124 semester hours with 90 semester hours being in Liberal Arts credit. The major requires a minimum of 34 credits in psychology, providing ample opportunity to double major or minor in another interest area. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required for admission to the major and to graduate.

The B.A. major in Psychology requires 34 semester hours that include:

  • General Psychology (PSYC 1010)
  • Research Methods (PSYC 3090)*
  • Statistics (MATH 2400)
  • Developmental Psych or Child & Adolescent (PSYC 2010 or PSYC 2030)

  • Social Psychology (PSYC 3060)
  • Personality Theory (PSYC 4010)
  • Psychological Disorders (PSYC 4020)

  • Field Work Preparation and Practicum (PSYC 3500 & 4500)
    OR
  • Research Practicum (PSYC 4070)

  • Psychology and Theology (PSYC 4060)

    Students must also choose two or three of the following:
  • Human Sexuality (PSYC 2020)
  • Human Relationships (PSYC 2080)
  • Organizational Behavior (PSYC 2600)

  • Psychological Assessment (PSYC 3020)*
  • Biological Bases of Behavior (PSYC 3070)

    *Statistics (MATH 2400) is a prerequisite for Psychology 3020 and 3090.
