Who Will I Meet?

faculty

Paul Stewart, Professor of Communication

Paul Stewart has his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and has been teaching in the Communication program at Roberts for 20 years.  He has long been interested in the impact of media and technology on culture.  He has been significantly influenced by Marshall McLuhan, Jacques Ellul, and Neil Postman, theorists who argue that our culture is being transformed by our visual culture and the power of this new digital world.  He will teach the new Media Ecology course in the new degree program.  Dr. Stewart loves airplanes, acoustic stringed instruments, keeping bees, and riding with his wife on their Trek T200 tandem bicycle!
