Major Requirements: 63 Hours

  • 6 hours of foundations courses during first two semesters (ART 102 or 103, and 105)

  • Art history course (ART 391 or ART 490)

  • Upper-level issues course (ART 491) and both senior capstone courses (ART 496 and 497)

  • 18 hours of Distribution Courses (CMC 201, 202, 310, 321, and 2 of the following courses: CMC 302, MKT 340, CMC 404, CMC 351)

  • 6 hours of art electives in one studio area such as painting, printmaking, or ceramics

  • An 18-hour concentration including the following courses: ART 261, ART 270, ART 274, ART 275, ART 375, and ART 475.

Related Majors

Art Education - Become an Art Teacher. This degree will prepare students for New York State certification in Visual Art Education for kindergarten through grade 12.
Studio Art - In the Visual Arts Program, students explore the beauty of God’s creation through studio exploration in traditional technique and contemporary approach, en route to a Studio Art Degree.
