Meet Chaplain Jon Bratt

I served 21 years as a Free Methodist pastor in Elkland, Pa.; pastor for discipleship and family life in Chittenango, N.Y.; and 15 years at the Dearborn Free Methodist Church in Dearborn, MI. I became chaplain of Roberts Wesleyan College in 2008.

My wife Janet and I both graduated from Roberts in 1984. We've been married for over 30 years, and we have three children: Kim, Melanie, and Michael.

I enjoy music - I play the piano/keyboard, guitar and trumpet, and have composed many songs and musical compositions - and I've played for many years with dozens of worship teams.  I also enjoy reading, writing, photography, biking, basketball, and art.

Above all else, my desire is to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, and to be a catalyst to help the Roberts community do the same.

Meet Chapel Music Director Perry Moore

I was born and raised in northeast Ohio, eventually graduating from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University in 1985 with a degree in music performance and a minor in communications. I served at Whitehall Church of the Nazarene for a year-and-a-half as their worship and youth pastor, then went to Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene (Paz Naz) for a three-month stint as a youth intern. At that time, I decided that I would never work in a church again. God can express humor. That all changed in 1993 when Paz Naz invited me to be on their staff as worship pastor for their “contemporary” service. Since that time I’ve served three different churches in worship ministry. Along the way I met and married Jennifer Koizumi, helped raise our daughter, and earned a Masters Degree in Worship Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.

In 1998 I recorded a CD of all original worship music and had the privilege of doing this with quite a few musicians who played in Maranatha! Music’s worship band. The CD went on to sell, well, literally dozens of copies. I’ve also worked with and recorded nine projects with Melea Brock, a story writer/teller out of Sierra Madre, California.

In May of 2016 Jennifer began her job at Roberts as Executive Director of Adult and Grad Enrollment. I resigned my position at Montrose Church, we sold our house, and settled here. It’s been a wild ride!

For fun I dabble in music, piano mostly, I exercise, I’ll play soccer from time to time if I can find anyone interested, I read, write, and hang out with Jennifer, which is what I enjoy the most.

God is always present and I find great satisfaction and joy in serving Christ with all I am able to give. Psalm 139 has been foundational for my life. There is no place I can go where I am unable to find the presence of God. The heights, the depths, in sadness, in elation. I live my life with that understanding and am continually grateful.
