Chapel is an integral and distinctive part of our Christian liberal arts education experience at Roberts. Students have the opportunity to hear from a variety of guest speakers from across the world (and across campus). We hope to foster spiritual growth and discussion throughout the Roberts community.

Our chapels are open to the community, so whether you're a student, faculty or staff member, alum, or even a community member, you are welcome to attend!

We feature several options for students to fulfill their spiritual life requirement. Because we believe that the spiritual dimension of our life takes time and attention, full-time freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are required to obtain at least 20 spiritual life credits each semester and full-time seniors (90+ earned academic credits) are required to obtain 10 spiritual life credits each semester.

Monday Community Gathering Chapels

We create space and time for our Roberts community to worship and learn together.  During the Monday Community Worship from 11-11:50 am, sermon series focus us together on various topics of faith development throughout the semester. We worship in a variety of Christian traditions and styles that reflect our faith community at Roberts.

Wednesday Chapel Services

On Wednesdays from 11-11:50 am, worship tends to be more contemporary and student-led.  Area pastors, faculty, and other inspiring speakers bring biblical messages that challenge and aid our spiritual growth.

Friday Chapel

The Spiritual Life team members lead discussions on relevant topics each week on Friday’s, from 11-11:50am in the Fireside lounge in the B. Thomas Golisano Library. This informal setting gives students the opportunity to explore faith issues in conversation.

Saturday Service Opportunities

Saturday service projects are offered once a month, three times a semester. These earn 3 spiritual life credits for each, since they involve serving Saturday morning or afternoon. These are service/ministry opportunities off campus, often in the city of Rochester.  Our goal is to introduce students to new opportunities to serve God and stretch them to see God’s heart for those in need.
