Since she started Kindergarten, Karen knew she wanted to be a teacher. She has taught math at Roberts for just over three decades and is still loving it! Karen has taught undergraduate and graduate mathematics and statistics courses for traditional and nontraditional programs. A real joy for Karen is seeing students realize that they can conquer the material in a course they have been struggling with and that math and science are actually pretty cool! Karen holds a master’s degree in math from SUNY Brockport, a master’s degree in education from the University of Rochester, a certificate of advanced study in education also from the University of Rochester and, at the end of 2021, an advanced certificate in Scripture, Theology, and Ministry from Northeastern Seminary – she kind of likes learning. And she got her undergraduate degree, math education, at Roberts! Karen attends Browncroft Community Church where she leads a small group for the Women’s Ministry program and volunteers with the church’s online livestream team. She and her dog, Kaiden - an adorable Australian Shepherd, live in Chili, New York.
