Flute Choirs
Director: Ashley Moss Fox, M.M., Michigan State University College of Music
We currently offer two flute choir experiences: the Camerata Flute Choir for beginning flute players (NYSSMA Levels 1-4) and the Cantabile Flute Choir for more experienced players (NYSSMA Levels 5-6). If you have not completed a NYSSMA solo, do not fret! Just give us a call and we will help find the best ensemble fit for you!
Ensemble Descriptions:
- The Camerata Flute Choir Choir
- Ensemble Experiences
- Explore rounds, duets, trios, and simple quartets.
- Explore music from a variety of genres, styles, and time periods.
- Perform at semester recitals.
- Requirements
- Successfully performed a NYSSMA Solo at Level 1-4
- Completion of the teacher recommendation form (not required for students taking lessons at RCMS).
- The Cantabile Flute Choir
- Ensemble Experiences
- Explore trios, quartets, and full flute ensemble music (5+ parts)
- Explore music from a variety of genres, styles, and time periods.
- Explore a variety of extended techniques for flute players.
- Explore extended instrumentation (piccolo, alto, and/or bass flutes)
- Perform at semester recitals and requested community events (TBD).
- Requirements
- Successfully performed a NYSSMA Solo at Level 5-6
- Completion of the teacher recommendation form (not required for students taking lessons at RCMS)
Tuition: $190 per semester OR $161.50 per semester for RCMS lesson students
The groups meet weekly on Thursday evenings (times based on player availability).
