DeVinney Receives Inspirational Leadership Recognition from Latinas Unidas

Lisa Martinez DeVinney, Enrollment Outreach Manager and adjunct professor at Roberts Wesleyan College was recognized for her Inspirational Leadership from Latinas Unidas (LU).  She was surprised by a visit today from Daisy Rivera Algarin, Yesenia Ramos-Torres, and Kelly Mullaney of Latinas Unidas and will be honored at LU's 26th annual Reconocimiento & Scholarship Awards Luncheon on November 18, 2019 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Rochester.

DeVinney has a passion for supporting the Hispanic community and has given so much of her time and expertise to the valuable organizations that highlight the important work being done, sharing the accomplishments of other Latinas, and providing educational support and experiences for the community.   Among such involvements, she has been an active member for many years in Latinas Unidas and currently serves as a board member of the Rochester Hispanic Business Association (RHBA), a former board member for both Tech Rochester (formerly Digital Rochester) and the New York State Transfer and Articulation Association (NYSTAA), the Diversity and Equity Committee at Roberts and various veteran-related initiatives -- just to name a few.

A first-generation college graduate, her roles in leadership make her a true representation and inspiration to other Latinas who see her example and, in many cases, see a vision of themselves in leadership positions - someone who is just like them.

DeVinney also inspires all people to get involved in the things that matter by using her gifts to make a difference. She was extremely instrumental in supporting the Latinas Unidas youth event, "Soy Unica, Soy Latina!" held at Roberts Wesleyan College this year. Additionally, DeVinney makes it her personal mission to support individuals within the Roberts community by getting to know other Latinas in our organization and supporting them personally and professionally.

She truly is an inspirational Latina Leader!
