Redhawks Who Soar - March 2018

Roberts Wesleyan College is proud of its 17,737 living alumni. Roberts alumni are working in the fields of healthcare, social work, business, education, non-profits and entrepreneurship – to name a few! After graduation, the soul of Roberts stays with our alumni -- read these short updates to learn more about their lives after college.

Here are this month’s Redhawks Who Soar:

Daniele Lyman-Torres’06 and ’07 (Organizational Management and Master of Strategic Leadership) was named Commissioner of the Department of Recreation and Youth Services for Rochester, effective Mar. 1, by Mayor Warren. Daniele is also adjunct faculty at Roberts. Read the full story.

Tom Poole’74 (Religion-Philosophy) is the Vice President of Administration at Penn State and will retire on June 30th after serving over a decade at the University. Tom has 36 years of career experience in higher education. He is also a former Northeastern Seminary Advisory Board Member. Read the full story.

Diane Hewitt-Johnson’07 (Master of Strategic Leadership) is the Director of Operations of Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. She previously was their Director of Health since 2009. Read the full story.

Courtney Hitchcock’17 (Communication) will be interning with the International Justice Mission in Kampala, Uganda this summer. She will be working with the Department of Public Prosecutions of Uganda to help address Gender Based Violence, child sacrifice, and land grabbing cases within the legal system.

Sarah Weyman’17 (Liberal Arts) is teaching 4th grade at the American School in Zarqa, Jordan.

Alana Botrowny Jackson’11 (English) owns Rochester Conservatory of Dance. They foster a tolerant and accepting artistic forum for students to express themselves through the art of dance.

Leah Frazier’04 (Criminal Justice) delivered a TED talk on fashion in early March.

Annette Adams’03 (Master of Management) is the school nurse at Newark Middle School. Read the full story.
