January 24, 2017Roberts Wesleyan Students Participate in RochesterCares King for a Day
75 Roberts Wesleyan students participated in the Jan 21st RochesterCares King for a Day. This annual event honors the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. by deploying hundreds of volunteers to local agencies.
The Office of Student Life and the Student Multicultural Advisory Council recruited students to serve at local community-based agencies and nonprofit organizations throughout the Greater Rochester area involved in the celebration.
Roberts students served at four locations, completing various tasks, such as cleaning, organizing, repairing, etc. Locations included:
- Charles Finney School, 2070 Five Mile Line Rd., Penfield
- Covenant United Methodist Church, 1124 Culver Rd., Rochester
- Progressive Church, 384 Chili Avenue, Rochester
- Seabury Woods Senior Living, 110 Dalaker Drive, Gates
- Eagle Star Veteran’s Home, 277 S. Union Street, Spencerport
