Jenn Suhr ’04 to Compete at 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials

The U.S. Olympic trials are set for July in Eugene, Oregon, where Jenn Suhr ‘04 will compete for the chance to defend her 2012 gold-medal performance in the 2016 games this August in Rio de Janeiro.

A day of qualifying will be held July 8 followed by the finals on July 10 where the top three finishers make the U.S. team.

The Suhr's held a news conference in June at their home in Churchville regarding the Rio Games.  Coach Rick Suhr shared that Jenn might be the most decorated female pole vaulter in U.S. history with an Olympic gold medal at London (2012), a silver medal in Beijing (2008),  11 American records, 16 American titles, five world medals and two world records, but she’s not guaranteed a spot in Rio. “We have to be in the top three that day, that day only or we don’t go,” Rick Suhr said. We did it in 2012 and we’ll do it again in 2016.”
