Roberts students are creating job opportunities for orphans and single mothers in Huehuetenango Guatemala with the start of a new business.
Drawing on their experience in social entrepreneurship and working with businesses, like Fuego Coffee Roasters in Rochester, NY, the Roberts Enactus Team developed a solid business plan and designed the look and feel of this restaurant that will provide eight new jobs to graduating orphans and young women.
While in Guatemala, the Enactus Team also organized Project Elev8 (for high school students) and Escal8 (for kindergarteners): Two initiatives intended to empower children and youth to reach beyond society’s expectations and make a lasting change in their community.
