Roberts Appoints Executive Vice President for Enrollment & Strategic Initiatives

Roberts Wesleyan College is pleased to announce that Dr. Jack Connell has been appointed executive vice president for enrollment and strategic initiatives, effective August 1, 2015. The appointment concludes the search for the position, which encompasses admissions, recruitment, retention and collaboration with college advancement on marketing and communications in support of enrollment management. 

“Those who have worked with Jack know his commitment to Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary,” said Roberts Wesleyan’s president, Deana L. Porterfield.  “I truly believe Jack is the right executive to lead this area with excellence.  His ability to use his creativity and operational skills will enable us to create our enrollment management strategy for the future growth of the College and Seminary.”

In his new role, Connell will oversee undergraduate and adult and graduate admissions, student financial services, and marketing, and will have direct oversight of these functions at all levels of the College and indirect leadership at Northeastern Seminary.  

“In addition to bringing excellent strategic vision and proven leadership to the enrollment management area, Jack also has enrollment expertise through his research and dissertation at the University of Rochester, which focused on enrollment growth at Roberts Wesleyan College,” added Porterfield.

He has served as executive vice president for Roberts Wesleyan since 2013. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president for advancement and vice president of Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College. He has nearly 20 years of pastoral experience, including 11 years as senior pastor at Crosswinds Church in Canandaigua.

Connell received a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in higher education and higher education administration from the University of Rochester. He earned his doctor of ministry (D.Min.) in church leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary, where he also received his master’s degree. Connell attended Houghton College for his bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He and his wife Wendy reside in Honeoye Falls, N.Y. with their four children.
