On February 23, 2021, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Law Enforcement Webinar Series will present a webinar entitled The Importance of Research. Joseph Testani, Director of the Justice & Security Institute at Roberts Wesleyan College, will be one of the presenters.
The presentation will explain why research is important in the law enforcement community and how research can benefit both executives and line officers. It will discuss the availability of different types of criminal justice data and research and there will be demonstrations of both the DCJS Criminal Justice Knowledge Bank and Research Consortium web pages.
This webinar will also feature a moderated question and answer panel focusing on the Research Consortium project being conducted by the Brighton Police Department and Roberts Wesleyan College that is seeking to improve minority recruitment by police departments. The panelists will answer questions regarding the project itself and the mechanics of collaborating through DCJS’s Research Consortium.
