November 3, 2020Global Honors Program: First Year Seminar Service Project
Every year, our first year students participate in a service project in their First Year Seminar Classes. This year those service projects look a little different. The Global Honors Program First Year Seminar students learned about human trafficking around the world and in our own back yard. The students did a donation/collection drive for supplies for two local safe houses for women who have survived human trafficking. "They collected far more donations that were expected and packed over 250 bags of supplies with many, many, many boxes of excess supplies," said Dr. Amy Kovach, Professor of Chemistry. "These students learned about a problem in the classroom and turned the knowledge into action to serve our community."
Visit the Global Honors Program webpage to learn more about the program. Qualified students who apply by our early action deadline (November 15th) have the best chance of being accepted into the Global Honors Program.
