Alumni Spotlight: Nicholas Grunert'17, Management and Social Entrepreneurship

Nic Grunert'17 is an Enrollment Outreach Manager at Roberts Wesleyan College by day and the Operations Manager at Fuego Coffee Roasters in his spare time. Nic provides business and financial oversight to the cafe and coffee roastery. Fuego is owned by Renee Colon"07 (Business Management) and her husband, Tony. Fuego Coffee Roasters also runs Fuego Coffee House in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, staffed by young people who are aging out of an orphanage there.

Grunert was recently featured in a story in the Rochester Beacon, "Community Over Competition". This story talks about the Rochester coffee community and how they collaborate and help each other when needed. These local coffee shops work together to raise each other up to serve the people of Rochester. This spirit of helping one another is especially meaningful at Christmas. If, amid wrapping paper and bows, you are seeking a feel good story in the holiday spirit of helping others, read the full story here.
