Fall 2019 Sets Records for Enrollment, Diversity and Academic Excellence

Roberts Wesleyan College has enrolled 1,786 students this fall, surpassing the previous year by 40 students. This is the largest enrollment since 2011. The freshman class is the most diverse and academically robust on record.

"We are excited to welcome our newest traditional undergraduate, adult and graduate students to Roberts," said VP of Enrollment Kimberley Wiedefeld. "As a private Christian college, we have the opportunity to provide an excellent education that is unique, accessible and affordable. This milestone affirms that prospective students value the relevant and transformational educational experience we offer," said Wiedefeld.

The academic profile of the new freshman class is the strongest in our history with 61% of students coming from the top third of their high school graduating class, an increase in high school GPA and 21 point increase in average SAT.

This entering freshman class is also the most ethnically diverse class in history with 29 percent of students coming from under-represented backgrounds, which is a 5% increase above the previous year.

Roberts continues to enroll more students in the Adult and Graduate Programs, marking an increase of 24% since the launch of the College's Strategic Map in 2016. This increase can be partly attributed to the College's Corporate Partnerships program, which has enrolled 226 students since its launch in 2017. Through this program, companies are able to offer a creative and meaningful benefit to their employees. These adult working professionals have found the degree programs at Roberts to vitalize and advance their careers.

Fall 2019 also marks continued increases in retention and record-setting student persistence.

"With significant increases in our persistence and retention rates and our Four Year Promise, we know that more students are getting to their goal--the graduation stage-- on time." said Wiedefeld. "We know these students are just getting started and we can't wait to see how they will transform our local community of Rochester and the world."
