President’s Award of Excellence Presented to Wayne and Linda Clugston

Over 200 guests attended the annual Circle Dinner on May 16 in the Voller Athletic Center. Roberts and Northeastern Circle members enjoyed a lovely meal, special music, campus updates from President Deana Porterfield and interviews with students, but the highlight of the evening was the presentation of The President’s Award of Excellence, this year given to Wayne'61 and Linda'62 Clugston.

The President's Award is presented to recipients who exemplify any one, or combination of, the three elements comprising the College’s mission of Scholarship, Spiritual Formation and Service. These recipients demonstrate how to connect their head, to their heart and engage their hands in service.

President Porterfield remarked, "Wayne and Linda, we are so thankful that you have included Roberts Wesleyan College in your story, through your longtime commitment to this school and the work that we do. Without your passion and vision for adult enrollment Roberts would not be the institution it is today. You have demonstrated to all of us the spirit of Christian humility, along with exemplifying our mission."

Celebrating with Wayne and Linda were Wayne's siblings and spouses, the Clugston's sons, Greg and Steve, and former President Bill and Rilla Crothers.
