Ecology Club Students and Metz Culinary Tackle Growing Problem of Food Waste on Campus

Ecology Club students at Roberts have started a food recovery program to try to reduce the amount of food that is wasted on campus. As part of a national student initiative, these students, along with Metz Culinary dining hall food service staff, recover overproduced food (that doesn't make it to the serving line), pack it up, and deliver it to Asbury Dining & Caring Center in downtown Rochester. Since starting 2 years ago, this initiative has recovered over 3,000 pounds of food on Roberts' campus alone. Spectrum News recently visited campus to see this wonderful program first-hand.
