Roberts Students to Serve as Part of "King for a Day" on Saturday Jan. 26

Roberts Wesleyan College students will join students from other Rochester area colleges to volunteer as part of King for a Day at locations around Rochester on Saturday Jan. 26. King for a Day is a part of the nationally recognized MLK Jr. Day of Service, which encourages Americans across the country to engage in volunteer activities in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Roberts Wesleyan Students will volunteer at:

  • Pirate Toy Fund, 1453 E. Main Street, Rochester 14609
  • School #19, 465 Seward Street, Rochester 14608
  • Father's House Downtown campus, 28 Lawn Street, Rochester 14607
  • Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 614 Clifford Avenue, Rochester 14621
  • Seabury Woods, 110 Dalaker Drive, Rochester 14624
  • Coldwater Women's Shelter, 250 Coldwater Road, Rochester 14624
  • Eagle Star Housing, 277 S. Union Street, Spencerport 14559
  • Mary's Place Refugee Outreach, 414 Lexington Avenue, Rochester 14613

Roberts student athletes were recently named by NCAA Division II as finalists for the 2019 Award of Excellence. This accolade recognizes campus and community engagement initiatives taken on in the past year, specifically mentioning the Redhawks involvement in last year's King for a Day event.
