Bell Named 2018 RBJ Forty Under 40 Honoree

Darrell Bell, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary

As a leader, Darrell Bell’s style is one of empowerment, support and cooperation as he inspires his team to complete fundraising work for Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary. Bell came to us in January 2016 and immediately was able to unite a team in transition. Adapting to the culture, he tapped into each team member’s personality, strengths and gifts to lead us in surpassing our $42 million campaign goal by more than $2 million, fulfilling the largest fundraising campaign in our history.

Being responsible for advancement for two institutions is significant. He’s a fundraiser, relationship builder, strategic thinker, ambassador for diversity and the first African-American administrator in the history of the College and Seminary.

Bell always keeps goals in mind. He demands more from himself and serves as an example for others both at work as well as in the community. He is pursuing a master’s in strategic leadership as he continues to serve on various boards in the community, including the Charles G. Finney School Board and the Board of Directors for the Michael Napoleane Foundation, which seeks to ease the financial burdens of families with children suffering from cancer.

Bell does all this with humble confidence. He is also a champion for diversity and our multi-cultural students.  As a leader he inspires everyone around him.

Congratulations to all of the 2018 honorees!
