Roberts Students Serve the Community During Annual "King For A Day" Service Project

On Saturday, January 20, Roberts students gave back to the community by participating in the annual "King For A Day" Martin Luther King Jr. Service Project, coordinated by the Rochester Cares organization. The theme of this year's event was a quote from MLK Jr: "Life's most urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"

About 90 Roberts students and some staff members participated in this year's event. The kick-off event took place at the Port of Rochester building in Charlotte, where we joined hundreds of area college students and community members. After the brief inspirational program, students split into groups to serve a variety of different service project sites throughout the morning. Sites where Roberts students served included the Pirate Toy Fund, School #19 - Dr. Charles Lunsford School, The Father's House Downtown campus, Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, and Seabury Woods Senior Care.
