Roberts Selected to Receive Accreditation from National Association of the Schools of Art and Design

Roberts Wesleyan College is honored to share that it has been selected as one of 25 universities across New York to receive professional accreditation from the National Association of the Schools of Art and Design in all of its programs.

“Very few liberal arts colleges are accredited by this organization,” said Scott B. Caton, dean of the School of Arts and Humanities and acting chair of the Department of Visual Arts at Roberts Wesleyan College. “National Association of the Schools of Art and Design’s standards are set high and detailed. I am so proud, on behalf of the Roberts Wesleyan College community, to share that we are the only Christian liberal arts college in the state of New York with NASAD accreditation in all of our arts and design programs.”

Roberts offers the following degrees in the arts and design program:

  • Bachelor of Arts, four years: Studio Art
  • Bachelor of Science, four years: Studio Art (Graphic Design)
  • Bachelor of Science, four years: Studio Art (Ceramics, Digital Media Art, Drawing and Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture)

Founded in 1944, NASAD is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges and universities with approximately 352 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for art and design and art/design-related disciplines, and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational and other art/design-related endeavors.
