Roberts Alumni's Idea Warming More than Hearts this Season

What began as a unique idea for a class project, has grown into a way to help those in need in the Rochester community. Recent Roberts graduate, Will Cornfield '16, created the Chinchillo not only to provide a product that would keep consumers warm, but also to make a positive impact on the local homeless community. The Chinchillo is a thick, fleece blanket with a padded hood that is manufactured in right here in Rochester. Their website promotes their one-for-one model by stating, "when one Chinchillo is purchased it is also covering the cost of another Chinchillo." The second Chinchillo is then donated to one of several Rochester-area organizations.

Demand has been so great for the Chinchillo that they have sold out of their inventory. They are currently accepting pre-orders on their website, with an expected ship-date in mid-February. For more information, visit www.thechinchillo.com, or read the recent article in 585 Magazine.
