Roberts Wesleyan College Hosts Fall Leadership Breakfast with Keynote Speaker Tom Golisano

--Free Educational Networking Opportunity for Rochester-Area Professionals—

Roberts will host its semi-annual Leadership Breakfast featuring entrepreneur, local businessman and philanthropist Tom Golisano as the keynote speaker. Golisano will share his story about founding Paychex, an award-winning, multibillion-dollar company. This the 11th leadership breakfast since the event started in 2011.

  • The Leadership Breakfast will take place at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the Howard Stowe Roberts Cultural Life Center (Hale Auditorium) on campus.
  • Admission is free and breakfast will be provided.
  • Registration is required and guests can RSVP here by Oct. 7.

“The Leadership Breakfast at Roberts Wesleyan College is an opportunity for community members to benefit from Tom’s knowledge and wisdom and network with other professionals,” said Dr. Deana L. Porterfield, president of Roberts Wesleyan College. “Tom is such an inspirational leader and we hope that attendees will walk away from this event motivated with new ideas for how they can excel in their current workplace positions.”

Golisano founded Paychex in 1971 with just $3,000 and a good idea — to make payroll outsourcing easy and affordable for small businesses. From those early days with just one employee, Paychex now has more than 12,000 employees serving more than half a million small- to medium-sized businesses nationwide and generating over $2.5 billion in revenue last year. Well known for his philanthropy, Golisano’s personal philanthropic contributions to hospitals, educational institutions and other organizations have totaled more than $267 million.

The Golisano Foundation, founded in 1985, is now one of the largest private foundations in the United States devoted exclusively to supporting programs for people with intellectual disabilities. Golisano’s gift of $5 million to Roberts Wesleyan College in 2001 supported construction of the B. Thomas Golisano Library and Information Resource Center. Golisano was also presented with an honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1994.
