Roberts Partners with Rochester Cares for National Day of Service

#KFAD2016

On January 16, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, Roberts Student Life and SMAC (Student Multicultural Advisory Council) participated in the Rochester city-wide “King For A Day” (KFAD) service event to honor the memory of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and give back to the community through service.

Approximately 50 Roberts students gave up their Saturday morning to participate in the Rochester-wide community service projects, while students from the men's tennis and lacrosse teams worked with the Pirate Toy Fund. These are just a few of the many service projects Roberts students are a part of throughout the year.

As a RochesterCares staple event, King for a Day (KFAD), offers an opportunity for volunteers of all ages throughout the Rochester community to perform selfless community service. KFAD 2016 was one of the largest to date as RochesterCares continues to partner with the local colleges and universities as well as the City of Rochester and the community at large.

King for a Day is a part of the nationally recognized MLK Day of Service. For more information about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Day of Service, visit www.mlkday.gov.
