Webster Schools Superintendent Adele Bovard '80 Discusses Women's Leadership Skills.

Adele Bovard ’80 was named the Alumna of the Year on October 7, 2013.

Bovard, Superintendent of Webster Schools was a Music Education major as an undergraduate at Roberts Wesleyan College. Bovard is an educator and leader who commands the audience. Her teaching career started in the classroom where she made a difference in the lives of many students for almost twenty years.

Since 2006 she has served as the Superintendent of Webster Schools. In this role, she acts as the Chief Executive Officer and instructional leader of the 20th largest school district in New York State. She inspires and leads 750 teachers, 700 support staff, and 9,000 students. Bovard creates systems that focus the organization on providing excellent academic programs and supportive social learning experiences for K-12. Webster Central Schools have been recognized at the local, state and national level for achievements in academics, fine arts, and athletics.

Bovard also serves as the President of the Webster Community Coalition for Economic Development, Co-Chair of the New York State Council of School Superintendents Assessment Committee, Chair of the New York State Women in Administration, and is a board member of the Young Women’s Leadership Foundation and Never Say Never Foundation.
