David Michael Receives The Jay B. Nash Outstanding Major Award

Rochester, N.Y. - David Michael, a senior physical education major, received the Jay B. Nash award.  The award was presented at the NYSAHPERD annual conference held this month at Turning Stone Convention Center.

The Jay B. Nash Outstanding Major Award is given to one male & one female undergraduate student for outstanding performance relevant to their preparation for the profession in the areas of Health, Physical Education, Recreation or Dance. These recipients will represent NYS AHPERD at the Eastern District Association conference. The award also includes $1,000.00 support for graduate study, membership & conference registration fees for NYS AHPERD are waived for two years.

Dr. Elaine Gregory, Director of Physical Education at Roberts Wesleyan College shared that “this award represents the best of the best in New York”.   This award represents regional recognition, in addition Michael will also attend the regional physical education conference in Rhode Island and be recognized with all winners from twelve other states.
