More than 400 Graduates to Participate in Commencement Ceremony

- The Rev. Dr. Leith Anderson, President of the National Association of Evangelicals, to Provide Commencement Address  -

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Roberts Wesleyan College will celebrate its annual commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, in the Voller Athletic Center on campus. More than 260 undergraduate students and more than 140 graduate students will participate in the event. Roberts Wesleyan College is pleased to have the Rev. Dr. Leith Anderson as the keynote speaker for the class of 2013. Anderson is president of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and was senior pastor of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie for more than 30 years.

  “It is a great honor to have Rev. Dr. Leith Anderson speaking to our graduates on such a special day. His pastoring, writing and leadership role in the Christian community is acknowledged and respected by all members of the college,” Roberts Wesleyan College President Dr. John Martin said.

In addition to his role as president of NAE, Leith has a daily radio program with Wooddale Church called “Faith Matters,” which is heard in cities across America and overseas. Leith’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Bradley University, a master’s degree in divinity from Denver Seminary and a doctorate in ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. His articles have been published in many periodicals and he has written numerous books, including “Dying for Change,” “A Church for the Twenty-First Century,” “Winning the Values War,” “Praying to the God You Can Trust,” “Leadership that Works,” “Becoming Friends with God,” “Jesus — An Intimate Portrait,” “How to Act Like a Christian” and “The Jesus Revolution.” Anderson lives in Eden Praire, Minn., with his wife, Charleen, and their four children.
