President John Martin Announces Plans to Step Down in May 2014

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On Monday, Feb. 11, at a campus-wide meeting for staff and faculty, Dr. John A. Martin, president of Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary, announced that he will finish his service following the 2013-14 school year. The College’s board of trustees has been informed and will begin the process to determine a successor.

“The College is moving into its next critical phase of development, and I feel that the timing of this transition makes sense from a strategic perspective,” Martin said. “I am proud of all we have accomplished together, and I feel confident that that Roberts Community will continue to thrive.”

Terry Taber, chair of the Roberts board of trustees, echoed Martin’s sentiments. “John has been and continues to be an incredible leader for the College,” Taber said. “On behalf of the entire board, we look forward to helping John complete his administrative responsibilities, and wish him well in this next chapter.”
