Roberts Invites The Community To Observe 9/11 At 6 PM Ceremony

9/11 REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY SET FOR 6 P.M. SUNDAY AT ROBERTS

MOVES FROM OUTDOOR COLOR GUARD TO INDOOR PRAYER/SONG SERVICE

 

 

WHAT:  The community is invited to an evening ceremony to observe the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center.  A large American flag displayed between two aerial ladder trucks outside the College’s Cultural Life Center will mark the location of remembrance activities, which will feature local first responders, the Gates Police Dept. Keystone Club Pipes & Drums, and patriotic songs by combined area church choirs.

 

At the sound of a fire siren, the ceremony will move inside the Cultural Life Center for prayer and song.  A variety of local service organizations – police and fire departments, American Legion posts, churches, musical groups, Boy Scout Troop 90, Gates Chili Fire Dept. Explorers, and others – will participate and assist in the evening’s activities.
