The 2013 Association of Christian Librarians Research Award Announced

The B. Thomas Golisano Library is pleased to announce the 2013 Association of Christian Librarians Research Award winner for Roberts Wesleyan College:  Traci Birge (M.A., ’12 NES) for her research project, The Open Vocation of Humanity as Established in the Genesis Cosmogonies and Its Implication on Scripture. Traci was nominated for this award by Dr. Richard Middleton, Northeastern Seminary, and her project was reviewed by a panel from the Golisano Library staff.

The Library also recognized two students with Honorable Mention awards: Catherine Uhly for her research paper The Challenges that Returning Veterans Face and their Implications for Veteran’s Treatment Courts in Genesee County, New York and Susan Warner for her paper Addressing Alcohol Misuse: The Role of a Community College Health Services Department.

Catherine and Susan were nominated by Dr. Simon Njumbwa, Department of Adult Professional Studies.

All three students exemplify the personal characteristics that Roberts Wesleyan College seeks to cultivate in its graduates and the research skills that Golisano Library seeks to promote and support in the students it serves. The Research Award included a certificate of recognition from the Association of Christian Librarians and the Library and letters of congratulations, which was presented to them in the Fireside Reading Room on April 22nd.

Congratulations, Traci, Catherine and Susan!
