“I grew up in a family of four kids so, financially, a Christian education seemed pretty impossible. But because of all the fantastic people in the Roberts community who believe in the power of giving, I was able to attend Roberts. That was just the first miracle I experienced at Roberts…

During my sophomore year, I was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular tissue cancer for the second time. All I could think was that this was God’s will, and that the Lord had some sort of greater purpose for me. So, with the Roberts community by my side, we fought for God’s will. Hard.

The second miracle I experienced at Roberts was the incredible support and hope I felt during my diagnosis and treatment. When I told my professors I was sick, they prayed with me. When I walked through campus, my friends surrounded me. The members of the Roberts community became my protectors. At Roberts, I have an army of people fighting for me—and I owe it all to the many people who supported the Roberts Fund and gave me the opportunity to attend to this amazing school.

Now in remission, I see cancer as the gift I wouldn’t wish on anyone, but still as the greatest gift I have received. With the help of the Roberts community we can share a powerful testimony to our God’s incredible Sovereignty and to me, that’s a pretty big gift."
